aka Science is a science enrichment program designed by Hands-on-Science-Outreach (HOSO) that can be done after school or as a special pull-out program – especially helpful for tutoring sessions. Students do hands-on activities using everyday materials to reinforce what they are learning in their classrooms. All activities are aligned with the TEKS and National Standards. aka Science comes in a kit made up of eight lessons for no more than 11 students at a time. Each kit costs $230 – this includes all materials, easy to follow lesson plans and shipping and handling costs. An AHEC staff member, certified as an aka Science trainer, will come to your school and train you in the workings of the kit. Please allow ample time for ordering kits.
