Health careers promotion is designed to introduce students to a wide variety of health careers, including medicine, nursing, allied health, and research. Age appropriate activities are available for any group from kindergarten through college. Individual consultation is also available for people deciding on particular training programs or colleges, between several health careers, or to match interests and skills to a health career. Some general activities that are done through health careers promotion include:
- Presenting health information to elementary, junior high, and senior high students
- Arranging health professionals speakers for high school or college classes
- Assisting college students in arranging internships and shadowing experiences
- Attending College and Career Nights for high schools, agencies, and industries
- Providing a library of books and videos for student and teacher use
- Offering a special summer Health Careers Camp for high school students
