Health Careers Presentation
The purpose of this presentation is to introduce students to a wide variety of jobs in the health care field. Through this presentation, students learn about careers in all areas of health care, what schools in Texas offer degrees or certificates in those careers, what the average salary in Texas is and a myriad of other facts about health care careers.
This presentation is offered in a variety of ways:
- Careers requiring four or more years of college – physician, pharmacist, physical therapist, occupational therapist, nursing, etc.
- Careers requiring two or fewer years of college, or certification – nursing, pharmacy tech, radiologic technologist, sonographer, phlebotomist, etc.
- A combination of the two above.
This activity can be used during class time, for a club activity or for a special presentation depending on student size.
Please allow one to two hours for this activity – two hours is ideal for this activity, but it can be narrowed to fit one class period.
