Getting into a health careers program is getting harder and harder. All professional programs want to see students that have some experience in the field they are interested in. This is usually done through shadowing while in college, but it is a good idea for high school students to take part in this experience as well. Shadowing professionals in their field of interest not only gives students experience in the field, but also gives them a reality check about these careers. Students get the chance to see what the job is actually like and how they would spend their days at work. This is very beneficial to students trying to decide what career they want to pursue and also to those who think they have it all figured out!
Students must fill out shadowing agreements with Piney Woods AHEC and then stick to that agreement!
